The Niche Vehicle Network supports the introduction and use of innovative technologies within the low volume vehicle manufacturing sector.

• R&D Competitions

  Supported by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles, Innovate UK and the Advanced Propulsion Centre, our Niche Vehicle R&D Competitions provide grants for niche vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and technology organisations who wish to collaborate on innovative, industry-led projects focused on UK non-human powered road-going or off-highway niche vehicles.

• IP Protection

  By undertaking an R&D project it is anticipated that you will generate Intellectual Property that may need to be protected to secure your commercial position.  Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) refers to the various rights that exist to safeguard/ protect original creations.

• R&D Tax Credits

  Your company may be eligible to claim for R&D tax relief if your research project seeks to achieve an advance in overall knowledge or capability through the resolution of a scientific or technological uncertainty.

• Technology Road Maps

  The Automotive Council have published several technology road-maps to illustrate the advances that are expected to be made in automotive technology.  These diagrams represent the consensus view of key stakeholders for a variety of technologies.

• Other Funding Sources

  The Niche Vehicle Network focuses on providing grant funding to companies active in the niche and specialist vehicle manufacturing sector, therefore our competition criteria may not be applicable for your own project idea. However, there are a number of other potential grant funding bodies who may be able to assist you.
